Spirit

Engaging in spirit work when healing from sexual and relational harm involves engaging with one's spirituality, belief system, or higher purpose, as a means of finding strength, resilience, and meaning in the face of trauma. This approach recognizes the interconnectedness of the whole person within their recovery process. It may involve practices such as meditation, prayer, ritual, connecting with nature, seeking guidance from spiritual leaders or finding ways to make meaning of one's experiences. Opportunities for spirit will be announced soon.

Forest Bathing is considered an important health and wellness practice in Japan and other countries, and comes from the Japanese phrase Shinrin-yoku, which means “bathing or taking in the forest atmosphere.” Forest Bathing walks are slow, mostly silent, and focused on using senses.  Attention is placed on renewing and strengthening one's relationship with nature.  Research continues to support the numerous health benefits of being in nature and we invite survivors to join us on this experience.
